| ©SSM / Dan Atkins Location: For the 6th year, the PWA World Tour has returned to the Greece for the Paros 1998 PWA World Cup. Paros has proved itself to be one of the most popular events on the PWA World Tour with the traditionally relaxed atmosphere of the Eastern Mediterranean and the regular Meltemi winds attracting a strong fleet year after year. Windsurfing in Greece receives tremendously strong support and the country is very enthusiastic about the sport in which it holds an Olympic Gold. Although a drop in prize money has seen the event return to World Cup status, a world class fleet are present here, headed up by the World number 2# in racing Micah Buzianis (US-34), wild Frenchman Robert Teriitehau (F-2000), number 2# in the '98 wave ranking Nik Baker (K-66), current '98 speed champion Finian Maynard (KV-11) and upwind specialist, Aussie Steve Allen (KA-0). And the Winner is... The Racing was won by US-34 Micah Buzianis, who sailed a great competition, winning 7 out of 11 races. However, Buzianis was not able to claim the event victory until the very final race of the competition. Sailors and spectators watched on with amazement as Buzianis crashed out and then climbed back up the fleet, clinging onto the event victory by just 1.8pts from Robert Teriitehau F-2000. Baker brothers Ant & Nik and British Champion Jamie Hawkins fought out a close run battle for 3rd position which was also decided on the final race. Nik Baker came through to take 3rd position on the podium ahead of Jamie Hawkins and Ant Baker. The Results: Final racing results after 11 races and 2 discards 1 BUZIANIS,
